What do you think of when you hear the word abundance?
Too often, our modern, commercial-driven culture tries to reduce abundance down to the numbers in a bank account. But true, biblical abundance is far more expansive. It means extremely plentiful, oversufficient, overflowing, and more than enough across every metric of your human existence [07:28].
In a transcendent, high-energy service at Cornerstone Church, world-renowned author, speaker, and life coach Dr. Tim Storey delivered a definitive, fire-starting message rooted in Proverbs 12:11. The sermon challenged us to confront our excuses, shake off a passive culture of selfishness, and boldly step directly into our divine placement.
Understanding the 8 Spheres of Abundance
Dr. Tim reminded the house that the third part of the Trinity thinks like the whole Trinity—and the Trinity only thinks in terms of abundance [09:42]. Jesus explicitly stated in John 10:10 that He came so we could live life more abundantly.
True abundance is designed to overflow across the eight primary categories of your natural life [07:56]:
-
Spiritual: Living deeply anchored, connected, and responsive to the Holy Spirit.
-
Physical: Cultivating structural health, strength, and vitality in your body.
-
Mental: Developing a resilient, highly guarded miracle mentality [11:53].
-
Vocational (Job): Operating with absolute excellence, influence, and impact in your career.
-
Financial: Generating resources and cultivating multiple streams of income to fund the Kingdom [12:14].
-
Relational: Fostering healthy, authentic, life-giving connections.
-
Familial: Setting up structural, generational peace and alignment in your home.
-
Social: Carving out space to breathe, commune, and engage in corporate koinonia fellowship [08:29].
The Blueprint of the Land: Proverbs 12:11
“He who works his land shall have abundance, but whoever chases fantasies lacks judgment.” — Proverbs 12:11 [06:51]
Your “land” is simply the exact reality, assignment, and responsibility that God has placed right in front of you at this current moment [10:18]. If you are a seventh grader, work your seventh grade land. If you are a single mother, work your single mother land. If you are a technician, a business owner, a pastor, or a volunteer—work your land [10:26].
The spiritual law of the harvest dictates that you will never extract abundance from your land unless you follow a disciplined, mechanical protocol [11:01]:
-
Plow the Ground: Break up the hardened areas through sweat, focus, running, and cutting out toxic habits [11:26].
-
Plant the Seed: Educate yourself, read, study, and feed your mind with structural truth [12:14].
-
Water the Seed: Consistently nurture your vision through prayer, routine maintenance, and execution.
The Mechanics of an Uncommon Assignment
God does not pass out assignments just so you can simply “stay out of trouble” or passively glide by until the next presidential election [14:03]. An assignment is a distinct, sovereign deployment.
Dr. Tim looked back at the historical deployment of Noah (Genesis 6). God hand-picked Noah to work an incredibly distinct piece of land: to construct a massive ark to preserve life in the middle of a global crisis [17:32]. Noah had to execute this blueprint entirely by faith, having never even witnessed a drop of rain [18:06].
Dr. Tim broke down the three sequential evolutionary stages of stepping into an uncommon assignment:
1. The Calling (Cleo vs. Eklesia)
Scripture outlines two distinct types of calling. First, there is your Cleo—your highly individualized, specific, unique calling [22:53]. You are assigned your own unique identity and boundary lines. Second, we are the Eklesia—the corporate body of “called-out ones” who make up the global Church [26:14]. You are hand-picked by your Creator to fulfill a precise function, and Ephesians 4:1 demands that you walk completely worthy of that layout [26:41].
2. The Acceptance
To accept your calling means to actively receive it, welcome it, take it on as your personal property, and treat it with absolute stewardship [27:48]. The tragedy of modern culture is that our lower nature is intrinsically driven by a lazy, transactional mindset that constantly asks: “What’s in it for me?” [29:14] True acceptance requires you to silence the lower nature and say, “Yes, Lord. Whatever it requires, I welcome it.” [13:52]
3. The Sacrifice
You will never build your ark without total surrender [31:15]. Dr. Tim shared raw stories of his global travels—from dodging lethal threats from witch doctors in the deep African bush while sleeping under a tin roof covered in giant dropping rats, to checking his own ego to step away from luxury sports cars to drive a tiny, compact vehicle as a strict discipline against keeping up with the Joneses [32:03]. Sacrifice means doing the tough stuff when no one is watching, investing your capital into your development, and refusing to let comfort hijack your destiny [37:12].
Resetting the Mind-Skin: Romans 8:5
If you want different results, you have to upgrade your mental real estate.
“Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.” — Romans 8:5 [44:59]
Pastor Tim compared a “set mind” to the old-school televisions of his childhood—where you had to physically get up off the couch, walk over to the box, and manually click the dial with your fingers to change the channel [46:10].
Too many of us have our mental channels permanently “set” to the flesh—over-stimulated by social media, gripped by fads, paralyzed by fogginess, and consumed with keeping up with other people’s artificial timelines [47:54].
Jesus explicitly stated that you cannot pour brand-new wine into old, rigid wine skins [31:07]. Your mind needs a hard, sovereign reboot. You have to intentionally clean out the toxic data viruses, turn off the worldly entertainment noise, and load your mind with the active Word of God [31:30].
Stepping Into Your Dynamic Alignment
The message concluded with a powerful, corporate altar movement where hundreds of believers stepped out of the sidelines to petition for a total spiritual adjustment [56:25].
The room broke into corporate prayer, pulling marriages, health, finances, children, and generational lines out of chaotic drift and shifting them back into a fierce, accurate alignment with their assignment [55:03].
Pastor Tina Godair closed the service by calling the entire house to a unified, public declaration: “God, we hand-pick your vision. We make a definitive corporate commitment today—we will stop chasing fantasies, we will drop the excuses, and we will aggressively work our land!” [01:13:06]
